Mission & Key Responsibilities


  • Meet the monthly/quarterly close deadlines set by corporate accounting.
  • Oversee that the local annual statutory financial statements are lodged on time.
  • Build a close and reliable partnership with the Wabtec Netherlands (“WNL”) Managing Director.
  • Motivate, mentor, and manage the local accounting team.
  • Maintain excellent communication with your manager (Business Unit Finance Director).
  • Lead local accounting projects to optimize business processes.
  • Belong to the WNL Management Team.


Description of the job:



  • Manage the Finance department of WNL (excluding corporate treasury and tax).
  • Member of the WNL Management Team.
  • Occasionally lead special projects and ad-hoc project teams to optimize business processes.
  • Support the Finance Director when needed.



  • Ensure financial reporting for WNL is on time and according to Wabtec regulations.
  • Prepare monthly analysis and ad-hoc reporting as needed.
  • Prepare and coordinate the annual budget with each department/person within WNL.
  • Execute the Business Unit guidelines on intercompany pricing for WNL.
  • See that the cost prices in the ERP system are accurate and updated frequently. 
  • See that physical counts happens according to the requested frequency.
  • See that annual SOX/internal controls testing is done within WNL.
  • Support the Wabtec M&A team with due diligence activity when required.
  • Coordinate the annual statutory financial statements and external audit for WNL.
  • Support and assist internal/external fiscal advisors for filing of tax returns.
  • Oversee the local banking relationship of WNL (excludes corporate treasury function), Arrangement of customer requests for bank guarantees, etc.
  • See that WNL is covered for business risks with proper insurances.
  • Have proxy to execute payments within WNL.
  • Arrange service contracts between WNL and associated operating units.
  • Own the capital allocation request (large asset/investment) process for WNL.



  • Approve user access to the ERP system (Epicor 10) for WNL and review this access half yearly. 
  • See that IT SOX requirements within WNL will be met.
  • See that support is adequate to guarantee smooth use of the systems.



  • See with commercial staff within WNL that contracts are reviewed by Corporate Legal.
  • See that contracts are signed for agents and main distributors of WNL.


Educational level:

Bachelor / Master in Finance 


Knowledge, skills & competencies:

  • Knowledge of accounting & fiscal rules and practices (SOX, US GAAP).
  • Experience working in a large/US-listed organization.
  • Knowledge of organization principles / data processing.
    • Power Query/Pivot/BI a plus.
    • Epicor or general ERP knowledge a plus.
    • Oracle Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) a plus.
    • AR/AP automation principles a plus.
  • Strong understanding of internal controls.
  • Strong knowledge of fundamental accounting processes.
  • Ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • Able to handle confidential information.
  • Able to communicate and confidently present information on all levels.
  • Strong English language level.
  • Attention to detail.
